The sprint, masterfully launched by Guazzini in favor of Balsamo, delivers Sidi the third Track European Championships gold medal. Sidi's medal box proudly rounds off  with 3 golds, 3 silvers, 1 bronze and 2 Italian records.

"It was a very tough race," Elisa Balsamo said after the race. “We knew we had to go full gas  until the end because the gap was very small. I would never have imagined such an ending. "

"We cried with joy," Vittoria Guazzini continued. “Wearing this jersey means a lot to us, and it was an incredible race. At first I didn't believe it, then I looked at the scoreboard and told myself that we actually could make it. It has been a really difficult year for everyone, but the efforts have paid off. This is a great way to end our season. "
